Book Art
For several years now I’ve been making simple folded books and illustrating them by hand. Recently, however, I’ve taken up the challenge of creating hard cover books with sewn binding, which is both intimidating and exhilarating. Intimidating because there exists such a range of materials and techniques— not to mention subject matters— for hand made books; exhilarating because it is a thrill to hold a hard cover book made from scratch with one’s own hands.
